Accommodation | Sala Silver mine offers adventures and experiences to suit everyone, with different experiences in the mine and mine area. Stay in our beautiful hostel.
At STF Sala Silver mine, you stay in rustic and historic surroundings, with the mine right nearby. Book individual rooms for overnight stays or rent the whole house if you are planning a stay for a large group. The house can accommodate up to 100 guests, of which 30 will get a comfortable bed to stay in!
The house where STF Sala Silvergruva is located was built between 1918 and 1920 as a bachelor hotel and is actually originally called Marketenteriet. However, the house, which was built in anticipation of a mining boom, was never used for its intended purpose but has instead been vacant for most of its time. The original water heater is still here, on the ground floor. Throughout the house there are naked light bulbs, a reminder of the time when having electricity was a source of pride and signal of wealth! Marketenteriet is now a protected historic building.
The house has 30 beds in total, distributed among 15 rooms. There are three double rooms with double beds and another 15 double rooms with separate beds. The rooms are spread over two floors; five rooms on the ground floor and ten rooms upstairs.
The rooms do not have private showers or toilets; these are located in the hallways. On the ground floor there is a shower and toilet that are accessible for the disabled.
Check-in from 15:00 on the day of arrival and check-out no later than 11.00 on the day of departure.
Pets are allowed in a few of our double rooms with separate beds on the ground floor. Please inform us in advance if you are traveling with animals, so we can make sure you get the correct room.
There is so much to do here If you book an overnight stay, we can warmly recommend that you also book an exciting visit to the mine. If you bring your MTB bike, you can try our MTB loop, "Knektleden". We think you’ll also really enjoy a walk along the old waterways to Måns Ols Utvärdshus.
We welcome you!
